Aromatherapy Massage

The essential oils are chosen especially to meet the specific needs of each client and for a typical Aromatherapy massage treatment a selection of three or four compatible essential oils are blended together where they can enhance each others qualities, creating a more positive effect than if used individually. They are blended into a suitable base or carrier oil before being applied to the skin. The oils may also be diffused into the atmosphere and inhaled.

The benefits of regular Aromatherapy massage are widespread and can help to relieve tension and stress, stimulate the immune system, improve blood and lymph circulation, aid relaxation, increase energy levels and calm the body and mind.

Treatments typically last 30minutes for a back, neck and shoulder massage, concentrating specifically on areas that hold tension and stress. Or for maximum benefit a full body treatment lasts an hour, or longer, if including the face and head, a truly relaxing experience!

For mobile massages I bring my own comfortable, portable couch and during treatments large towels are used to ensure modesty and your privacy is always respected. Please note I only treat female clients.

Hot Stone Aromatherapy Massage

Hot stone massage is a deeply relaxing treatment and has many health benefits.

The stones that are used during the massage are made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock with the ability to retain heat. They are smooth and when used with carrier oils they glide smoothly over the muscles and tissues penetrating them with warmth. They may also be placed on the body in specific areas prior to treatment so in effect, pre heating the muscles ready for massage. The benefits of this being that the muscles are more relaxed and receptive to massage allowing them to be worked much deeper with less pressure. This in turn can relieve aches and pains, reducing muscle spasm and giving greater comfort.

Hot stone massage also aids the release of toxins from the body, increases blood circulation and calms the nervous system making it a wonderful treatment for alleviating stress and promoting a good night sleep.

The stones may also be used alongside traditional massage techniques depending on individual requirements and the use of essential oils give all the benefits of an Aromatherapy massage too!

Due to the equipment involved with this treatment, it is only available at my room in Bishops Tawton.

Below are testimonials from some of my clients:

"I’d always wanted to try hot stone massage so when Nina offered it I jumped at the chance! I wasn’t sure what to expect and was worried the stones would be too hard or too hot but I actually found it really relaxing and the heat from the stones very comforting. I will definitely have another." Ann – Newport, Barnstaple.

"I’ve been having regular massage with Nina for sometime now, so relaxing having massage at home. The hot stone massage is a must!" Nicky – Atherington.

"The whole experience left me feeling alive, energised and at the same time relaxed. I have been fortunate to experience a wide range of massage techniques and would rate a hot stone massage as the best of the bunch." Anne – Bickington, Barnstaple.

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage has become popular for its ease and convenience, allowing clients to remain dressed and treated in a comfortable seated position.

The massage includes the upper back, neck and shoulders, head, scalp and face.

Indian Head Massage can help relieve a wide range of conditions such as tension headaches, sinusitis, tired and strained eyes, whilst promoting healthy skin and hair growth and improved circulation.

The treatment is great for relieving muscular tension so commonly held in the back, neck and shoulder areas especially when spending large amounts of time sitting at a desk or driving.

A typical treatment lasts between 30-40mins and I like to include the use of essential oils where appropriate. Oils may be applied to the back, neck and shoulder areas, face and even to the scalp and hair. Treatments vary depending on the clients needs and whether it is practical to use oils.

Whilst these treatments are suitable for most adults there are certain conditions where treatment should be avoided. A detailed consultation is carried out prior to treatment to ensure that it is right for you. The consultation also enables me to gather information about you and your lifestyle in order for you to gain the most from your treatment. In some instances your doctor’s permission may be required before any treatments can commence. Please note I only treat female clients.

Below are testimonials from some of my clients:

"I look forward to my massage session with Nina, she always arrives on time with a smile and pleasant greeting. After the massage my whole body feels glowing and stimulated, a lovely feeling. I feel ready to face the day ahead, I really enjoy the time spent with Nina, and feel this is money well spent."
Diana, Landkey

"I have been having regular massage with Nina since she first started. I have quite a physical job and look forward to it once a month. I now have a full body massage to help keep my many aches and pains under control and to help me relax for a while. Nina also makes me a moisturising face cream and body creams which I use regularly and really feel the benefits to my skin."
Sue, Umberleigh

"Nina designs each massage to meet my individual needs. I would highly recommend her."
Sue, Pilton

"For a change, I had an Indian Head Massage with Nina, as well as the usual 'feel good' factor my face was fantastically smooth and my hair conditioned. Try it!"
Angie, Wembworthy

"Having Nina come to my house to do the massages is great. It means that I can book the sessions around what suits me and that afterwards when I am all relaxed I don't have to dress and drive home because I am already there! For me it's the most relaxing hour of my month and I feel it helps keep me balanced and healthier."
Sharon, Pilton

Holistic Aromatherapy Facial

An Aromatherapy facial is a great way to really pamper your skin as it combines the use of essential oils with the positive effects of massage.
Certain oils are particularly beneficial to different skin types and can be soothing, balancing and rejuvenating as well as anti-aging. In addition the oils are in direct contact with our sense of smell aiding relaxation and enhancing the experience.
A full facial treatment (around 50mins) consists of cleansing, toning, exfoliating, facial mask and moisturisers as well as a face, neck, shoulder and scalp massage.
The products include nourishing oils, creams and Organic flower waters as well as essential oils chosen for your skin type.
An initial consultation is taken prior to a facial treatment to establish your skin type and ensure that it is tailored to suit your individual needs.

“Despite always wanting to pamper myself and have a facial I never got around to it so when Nina told me she was now offering an Aromatherapy facial I couldn’t resist. Although I didn’t really know what to expect, I have had plenty of full body massages with Nina in the past so I knew I would be in safe hands. However, a treatment with Nina never fails to surprise me. With the complete package, a cleanser, toner, massage, mask and moisturising creams I felt amazing and like a new woman, thank you Nina.”
Maria, South Molton.
